MASSIVE DISCOUNT on An Illustrated Year: My Little Bookcase Calendar 2013

I spent a large portion of last year putting together An Illustrated Year: My Little Bookcase Calendar 2013.

I came up with the idea half way through my pregnancy. I had developed a bad case of baby brain and was cursing myself for not having purchased a calendar earlier in the year. I knew readers and friends of My Little Bookcase would love the concept too, and I thought it would be a great way to support our illustrators and raise money for a worthwhile organisation.

Of course, I’m not the one with the talent. I couldn’t have put together something so beautiful without the divine illustrations from 12 of Australia’s best picture book illustrators. All 12 amazing illustrators were keen to help with the project and I made a pledge to The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF), an organisation whose work I highly respect.

Sadly, sales have fallen short (very, very short) of my target and I feel like I’ve let the ALNF down.

So although I feel like I’m committing a crime, I’ve decided to heavily reduce the price of the calendar to $9.95 in hope of raising a bit more money for the ALNF. That equates to less than one dollar for each amazing illustration; illustrations that you can frame and display long after 2013 comes to an end; illustrations that are incredibly unique and many of which can’t be seen in published picture books.

So, are you willing to support this project? You can read some more detailed information about the calendar, but in a nutshell:

  • This January-December 2013 calendar is available in an easily downloadable and printable format, conveniently sized for printing directly onto A4 paper. The calendar cannot be purchased as a hard copy. It can be downloaded, saved and printed from home or by your local printer.
  • The downloadable format allows versatility in how you choose to print or display the calendar. It also keeps the cost of the calendar to a minimum, and you don’t need to worry about the postage costs that a hard copy calendar would incur.
  • An Illustrated Year features illustrations from 12 of Australia’s best illustrators: Kylie Dunstan (Collecting Colour),  Sue deGennaro (The Pros and Cons of Being a Frog),  Katherine Battersby (Squish Rabbit), Sally Rippin (The Rainbirds), Freya Blackwood (The Runaway Hug),  Lucia Masciullo (Come Down, Cat!), Nick Bland (The Very Cranky Bear), Anna Walker (I Love Ollie series), Lisa Stewart (Can I Cuddle the Moon?),  Christina Booth (Kip), Gus Gordon (Herman and Rosie) and Peter Carnavas (Last Tree in the City).
  • Specially designed: The illustrations have been specifically formatted to measure 5” x 7”. At the end of the year when you have finished with the calendar, simply trim, frame and display the illustrations (using 5”x7” frames) in your home.
  • A worthy cause: PLUS through the sale of this calendar, we are also proudly supporting the work of the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) in helping marginalised children learn to read and write, as a proportion of sales is being donated directly to the ALNF.

And now you can purchase AN ILLUSTRATED YEAR 2013 for just $9.95
