Book Week 2013 Giveway #1: Win a copy of I Dare You Not to Yawn (closed)

  1. I didn’t yawn once because it was such a great review about a gorgeous looking little book :)

  2. I yawned very little and smiled a lot ;) it’s like the last chocolate
In the box you try so very hard not to eat it

  3. I have yawned 4 times!

  4. Oh my!!! I started yawning before I clicked on the link!! As I was reading the review, I got to the part where you said you’ve never come in under three (at which point I was at three). Then another one snuck up. I started writing this and I got another two in for good measure. Now my eyes are watering and I’m as sleepy as can be. Perhaps this book will cure my insomnia. Oh my goodness. I just yawned again. Logging off now before I dislocate my jaw!!

  5. Well I felt the urge to yawn but suppressed it … it’s going to sneak up on me any second now ….. oooooooooohhhhhhh darn it thar she blows!!

  6. I yawned when I saw the Facebook post, again when I opened the link and now I want to yawn when I type yawn. And laugh because yawn is a ridiculous sounding word *yawning one last time for good measure*

  7. I yawned before I started . . . then I gritted my teeth and sipped my tea (Note: tea is hard to drink through gritted teeth) and made my way through the rest of the review without yawning! Victory is . . . yaaaaawn . . . mine!

    (The book looks brilliant!)

  8. OMG! I hadn’t yawned once tonight until I started reading your review! I yawned 4 times and haven’t stopped since!!!! Nighty night! ;-)

  9. Wow…it was like being dared to yawn!!! Can’t wait to read this book.

  10. I started yawning even before starting to read the review, well it’s past my bedtime. But would like to make my little boy yawn while reading a book to him. He’s usually so alert when I read him books.

Hahahaha, can’t stop laughing and yawning! It’s the simple things that are so enjoyable. Started yawning even before reading the post. Total of 4, no wait here’s another!

  12. I yawned just before reading the review. I read the review without yawning with my son who was asking lots of questions about the book . According to him it looks like a funny book and we will look for this book in our public library and borrow it if it is available. My son yawned twice …

I yawned just reading the title! Only two more yawns during the rest of the review. Not sure if that was the effect of the book, or reading this at 2.40am!
It sounds like a gorgeous book though, and one I must look out for.

  14. Miss 2 has been up and wanting Mummy to play and “make porridge please” since 5:30am so I involuntarily yawned all the way through your review!!!! I failed your dare miserably!!

  15. I am a yawner whenever I pick up a book anyway. As I love reading it is the best way to relax and escape to another place. I am a primary school teacher and every time I pick up a book I begin to relax and the yawns start coming. The students think its hilarious every time and soon begin to follow suit as I explain to them that a yawn is the most contagious thing in the world. Reading this book in a book store recently caused me to yawn at every page and during your review it made me yawn 6 times.

  16. I read your terrific book review in the middle of the night, after checking the kids, with my bleary blood shot eye balls hanging out of my head! And I am proud to say that I totally owned the dare, as I did not yawn once! Woohoo! I do however need a bucket of coffee to get through the day!

  17. Baby 2.0 has been starting the day at 5am lately so *yawn* I was pretty much yawning every 2 minutes while reading the review.

  18. As I read your book review over breakfast, having had a restful night I made it to the end without yawning once, which is a bit of a record for me – the teacher who yawns at least once through most books!! Great review, can’t wait to read the book.

  19. have 2 admit I didn’t yawn thru the review but I did when I started reading the comments! Ha ha ha would love 2 read the book now. I think the book would appeal 2 all 3 of my kids

I only yawned twice reading your review of ‘I Dare You Not To Yawn’ (which is definitely not a reflection on your writing!), but more shows how little sleep I’ve managed to get over the last couple of weeks. I would absolutely love this book, as my 3 and 1/2 year old son and I have a long-standing game where he tries to make me “catch his yawn” and is extremely proud of himself when he manages to get me.

  21. I didn’t yawn once, honestly – well okay, I might have yawned a bit through my nose, I guess I should have gone to bed earlier!

  22. Well, I yawned twice before even getting to the review and then twice again while reading it! Looks like a fun book!

  23. I was woken at 4.30 by a swift kick to the ribs – no yawn. I saw this post around 5.15 and was keen to reply (as I love a book comp almost more than morning coffee) – no yawn. My baby wanted breakfast, the next one woke up, I cooked, I showered, I was running late for work – no yawn. I was waiting for a break all day to get my entry in, knowing there would be little time during the dinner, bath. bed schedule – many meetings OK I yawned! Now before I leave for work after a full day and a lack of reading about cool and funky kids books which fill my heart with joy – here I am …. YAWN!

  24. When I feel a yawn creep near, I start to sing and quell my fear.
Then just when I think that I have won, the sneaky thing brings me undone!

  25. I’m a sleep deprived mummy… the better question would be how many times I didn’t yawn!

  26. I didn’t yawn once but my poor little teething bubba yawned a zillion times while I was reading it! All this talk of yawning makes me feel the urge to…zzzzzzzzzzz!
