If you’ve been following My Little Bookcase for some time, you’ll know that we love using our paints.
We’ve never had an effective paint palette though. I normally set out paints for Cam, using a range of yoghurt containers or plastic plates, and then spend too much time cleaning and drying them.
I had a brain wave last week, when I opened my pantry door and was bombarded with all of the egg cartons that came crashing down on top of me. I needed to find a use for the egg cartons, and I promptly decided that an egg carton would make a fantastic paint palette.
And it did!
- It is sturdy
- It allows room for12 colours (or leave some of the spaces free for mixing colours)
- The spaces are small, meaning there is less chance of paint wastage.
- By keeping the lid intact, it can be used for storing paint brushes and a cup of water
- The paint residue dries up quickly
- Once the paint has dried, the carton can easily be refilled with paint.
