Happy New Year! I hope 2014 brings you lots of wonderful opportunities to share books with your children.

I tried not to make a fuss at the time, but late in 2013 my laptop completely crashed and I lost every file on my hard drive. Thankfully I’d backed up personal photos but I did lose over 30 posts, articles and book lists that I had saved in my drafts folder- posts that I was planning to publish and share with you in 2014.

So as I sit here in front of my new laptop, literally staring at empty folders, I realise that I have NOTHING to share with you.

I do feel heartbroken and despondent, but I really must move forward and start planning for a new year.  I’m starting this planning process by analysing my 2013 blog statistics , trying to determine the content that appeals most to parents and educators who enjoy visiting My Little Bookcase.

Funnily enough, despite the fact that I spent less time on My little Bookcase than ever before (due to an adorable little man who was in need of my love and attention), 2013 still managed to be our most successful year yet. I must say a HUGE thank you to you for stopping by here regularly. I truly hope you have found inspiration to contribute to your child’s love of reading and learning.
