In February 2015, an Australian blogging friend and colleague, Katey  (Play to Talk),  received the life-changing news that her beautiful 18-month-old boy, Finlay, had Stage 4 Hepatoblastoma (and they are not alone. Each day four families discover that their child has cancer and three children die from cancer each week).

Since that day, Finlay has been courageously fighting this terrible cancer, with his amazing family constantly by his side. After months of chemotherapy, Finlay underwent surgery today to remove the tumor from his liver and surrounding organs, having flown across the country from his home to Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney. But, they still have a long road ahead of them.

Once we saw the #justkeepdancing movement started by Ellen Degeneres, our team of Aussie mummy/play bloggers just knew we had to get behind the awareness campaign by dancing for Finlay and making a donation to the Friends of Finlay Fund: a fund set up for Finlay, his family and for ongoing cancer research.  We’d love you to do the same and challenge your own family and friends to take part by uploading a video of you and your kids dancing and donating to The Kids’ Cancer Project.

Here are my kids and their cousin, Cha Chi, dancing for Finlay.

And for more inspiration, we thought we’d compile our favorite books about dance.

The links will take you to The Kids’ Bookshop for more details about the books.
