I love this book. It is a delight to read from cover to cover. The large format makes it a perfect book for sharing with your child, spread across both of your laps.
The text is sweet but it’s the images that I adore; they just jump right off the page. There’s no wasted space in I Love My Mummy. The illustrations fill each page. They are large, colorful, and adorable.
There are a lot of special books about mums and many of them are similar. Most recite the day-to-day activities of a mother and her child. I Love My Mummy is just a little bit different. Giles Andreae includes the little things that we don’t generally talk about, like letting our kids see us in our underwear, making sure our kids don’t scream and shout when we’re out and about, and inviting our kids into our bed for a cuddle and a book.
Kids will enjoy the book too. The child in the story is happy and friendly and has a special penguin friend that can be found on each page.
