Snow White Birthday Party: Games and Play Stations

Snow White Party Games

Cam played a big role in planning her Snow White birthday party. She contributed ideas for food and decorations but according to her,  games and play are the most important ingredients for a wonderful party.

We offered a great range of age-appropriate activities  that were based on different elements of the Snow White fairy-tale. They allowed for participation, improvisation, imagination and play.

There were three party games that I facilitated and all party guests played along: Pass the Poison Apple, Pin the Ear on Dopey and The Dwarfs’ Diamond and Treasure Hunt.

We also set up four play stations. The girls were free to play at these stations at their own leisure. The Queen’s Potion Table and the Apple Baking Station were made up of objects to encourage imaginative play. The Magical Mirror Craft Station and Snow White Puzzle Table were more task orientated.

The  games and play stations were incredibly successful. The girls had a great time; they were engaged and happy, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

SNOW WHITE PARTY GAMES:

Pass the Poison Apple

Snow White Party Games

You will need:

  • An apple

How to Play:

  • Like Pass the Parcel, an apple is passed around the circle of party guests while music plays.
  • When the music stops, the guest holding the apple must pretend to take a bite of the apple and fall to sleep.
  • The game continues until there is one party guest left standing.

Pin the Ear on Dopey

Snow White Party Games

You will need:

  • A large image of Dopey
  • An image of Dopey’s ear (one per party guest)
  • A blindfold

How to play:

  • This game is played like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. One at a time, each party guest is given an ear, blindfolded and asked to attach the ear to Dopey.
  • The party guest whose ear is closest to Dopey’s real ear is the winner

The Dwarfs’ Diamond Treasure Hunt

Snow White Party Games

This party game is essentially a treasure hunt. It is based on the work of the Seven Dwarfs.

You will need:

  • A favour box for each guest
  • A whistle (so party guests can ‘whistle while they work’)
  • Gems and diamonds (we also found Chocolate Rocks)
  • A range of treasures (we  used ring lollipops, chocolate coins and  candy watches)

Snow White Party Games

How to Play:

  • I set up the favour boxes to look like mining carts on a railway track (I attached sticky-backed dots as wheels, and used paddle-pop sticks to form the railway track).  This formed part of the party decorations before the party games began.

Snow White Party Games

  • The Seven Dwarfs were keeping watch in the backyard, trying to protect their diamonds, gems and edible treasures that were previously hidden in the backyard

Snow White Party Games

  • Party guests were given a ‘mining cart’ and a whistle, and were asked to mine for treasures in the backyard.
